Scripture Memory for October!

Our little chalk wall in the garage has really come in handy (SEE POST HERE)- we decided to memorize Psalm 23 during the month of October- (the whole chapter). So, I wrote the first 3 verses on the "chalk wall" to remind us to work on it this week. Every time we enter or exit we sing our little Psalm 23 song. I would say the majority of scripture I have memorized is from my childhood when I went to a Lutheran school and they forced us to memorize a lot of scripture. I am so grateful for that now- I am not as good at memorization these days- so I am grateful to have that scripture hidden in my heart. This is one of those chapters I memorized as a child- and I want to make sure that even though we don't have the luxury of sending the girls to a Christian school right now- they can still memorize when they are young sponges!  The responsibility falls on me to teach them... and that is what I plan on doing! If your family would like to join us this month, we would love it!
Here is Psalm 23:

Psalm 23

A psalm of David.

The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing.
    He makes me lie down in green pastures,
he leads me beside quiet waters,
    he refreshes my soul.
He guides me along the right paths
    for his name’s sake.
Even though I walk
    through the darkest valley,[a]
I will fear no evil,
    for you are with me;
your rod and your staff,
    they comfort me.
You prepare a table before me
    in the presence of my enemies.
You anoint my head with oil;
    my cup overflows.
Surely your goodness and love will follow me
    all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the house of the Lord
    forever.
