Last Minute Easter Thoughts/Ideas

Just in case you need a few last minute Easter inspirations- here you go!

1. These "unEaster Baskets are great" thanks to my friend Sarah for sharing!
2. My girls could not get enough of this video on Easter- they wanted to watch several times! LINK

3. HERE is a rundown of all of my Easter ideas in case you missed them!
4. How easy and cute are THESE CUPCAKES

5. I am going to say it out loud... We do not do the "Easter Bunny"- I just can't take any more lying that strangers come leave stuff for the kids at holidays- Santa and the Tooth Fairy are where I draw the line- we give them a cute little basket of fun things and that is IT...enough already! That being said- fabulous for you and your kids if you "do the bunny" but if you don't, I just need you to know you are not alone!  Glad I got that off my chest, ha!
6. If I had a little boy- I would need him to wear one of these Easter Morning! HERE

7. I can only imagine how many churches will be playing "Alive" by Natalie Grant (inspired by The Story)  We had a chance to see The Story in concert last December- it is amazing- if you have the chance- GO!! If you have not heard this song...listen up! LINK

That is all for today- HAPPY EASTER! Lets not allow the news or the social media arguments or the crafts or the bunnies or the eggs, steal the spotlight off of Jesus Christ and just how HUGE this sacrifice and gift is! May we have a fresh reality of how much we need Him and a renewed sense of gratitude for the gifts of grace and salvation that he died to provide us with!

Re-Post: Holy Week

Easter Series: Holy Week

Here is a rundown of the happenings of Holy Week- I found this on {this link}- make sure to click on the linked words to learn more and find the associated scripture. I thought it was a helpful tool for walking through this awesome week with the kids!

Holy Week is the last week of Lent, when we follow Jesus from Palm Sunday, the Sunday of the Passion, to his death on Good Friday in preparation for his rising from the dead on Easter Sunday.

Palm Sunday: Accompanied by his disciples, Jesus rode into Jerusalem on a colt, while crowds of people covered the streets ahead of him with their cloaks and with palm branches.
Monday: Jesus chased the money-changers out of the Temple.
Tuesday and Wednesday: Jesus preached and taught in Jerusalem.
Thursday: After washing the feet of the disciples, Jesus celebrated the Feast of the Passover, instituting the Sacrament of Holy Communion.
After the supper, Jesus and his disciples went to Gethsemane to pray, where he was arrested by the Temple guard and taken to an illegal night session of the Jewish court, the Sanhedrin.
Good Friday: Jesus was taken into Roman courts, before Pontius Pilate and Herod Antipas, who sent him back to the Jewish court. Roman soldiers took him to Golgotha, the place of the skull, where he was crucified.
Saturday: Jesus rested in the tomb while his disciples observed the Sabbath.
Easter Sunday: An angel met Mary Magdalene and "the other Mary" (perhaps Mary, the mother of James and John) at the tomb to tell them that Jesus was risen from the dead.

Spring Break Recap!

Here is a little snapshot of our trip to Scottsdale where we have been for the past 2 weeks warming up over spring break!

{3 kids/1 mom we made it! We arrived at 10:30pm KC time- I took the "if you travel at bedtime the baby will sleep" gamble- didn't work out for me- Milly not only didn't sleep, she was pumped! These two are literally pros- I would fly anywhere with them!}

{First things first...we hit the pool! The girls couldn't wait to swim!}

{3 of the 6 McMaster cousins live in AZ- (they have 9 cousins all together- all under the age of 9- such fun!) Anyway, we love Liam, Ewan and Bennett and had so much fun hanging with them!}

{Hangin' on the golf course- we loved being outside after this winter!}

{For the first time in 6 years, I got to do this...Milly napping, E&I swimming and me laying out reading a magazine- amazing! That High School Lifeguarding is really coming in handy!}

{Dinner and Ice Cream with the cousins!}

{We lived in AZ for 3 years before moving to KC and we LOVE our friends there- this is London, Ellie's first friend- so fun to see them together and still loving each other!}

{Here they are right before we moved!}

{Dinner with the AZ buddies!}

{The Phoenix Zoo is great- the kids had the best day!}

{Ellie on a Camel- she wanted to ride alone!}

{Izz and I on the Camel!}

{This is how Milly enjoyed the Zoo!}

{Ellie and Liam did the Zipline- I was surprised Ellie walked up there without me and did it- no fear! Love it! Izz wanted to go but of course she isn't heavy enough.}

{She LOVED the carousel!}

{Ice Cream...lots of it!}

{The chix!}

{Our precious Aunty J (Ellie's godmother) was in town- she is amazing- it was so much fun to see her! Clearly the girls are nuts about her!}

{Swimming, Swimming, Swimming!}

{We were missing daddy, so we sent him a pic!}

{Ellie made this for her dad complete with a Starburst taped on for him}

{As much as we missed Dave, I kept seeing things like this from KC...so I tried to move our flights back 3 different times- no luck- we had to go home and face the snow- not happy about it!}

{Last night...soaking it up}

{Then...sniff sniff...we had to head home! Here is our little row on the plane- the girls did great on the flight- we had a blast! HERE are some of my flying tips}

{This is what we returned to- wearing flip flops in snow! It was gusting snow- 37 degrees- DEPRESSING! I need to go back until KC weather shapes up! }

{However...there is a bright spot to living in Kansas...}

{Rock Chalk Jayhawk...Isn't March Madness fun!}

Spring Dump!

Even if the weather in most of the country isn't agreeing- IT IS SPRING!! We are blessed to be in Scottsdale, AZ and it has been the most perfect, amazing weather! I am a new person getting outside and having the girls outside- however, it is snowing back home- so I will get back to reality soon! Here are some things I am excited about for the spring:

{Of course- the people in Scottsdale always have the new "thing" and I saw someone cruising on one of these- AMAZING! The StreetStrider (an elliptical bike!)- I would LOVE one of these (I am not a bike person) They also have them for kids- I need to save the pennies!}

{When I got pregnant with Ellie 7 years ago, there were very few stroller options (we did the Bugaboo and it was the best)- I do not know how I would make the decision now- there are so many delightful options! I saw a mom in Scottsdale with this stroller- awesome! I have no idea how it functions since I haven't used one- but it looks so cool! Quinny }

{I am so proud of my brother, he was just named one of GQ's 2013 "Best New Menswear Designers in America" You can now purchase the men's and women's jeans online at Baldwin Denim- I am not just saying this because he is my brother- the jeans are truly my favorites- I can wear them 10+times without washing and they never lose their shape- they dont get baggy like other jeans which I love! more info HERE}

{I love the Laura Mercier Caviar Stick (my friend Christina introduced me to them and I might have a little "problem" with collecting them. They came out with a new spring color "Rose Gold" I LOVE it!!! I am saving up for "Orchid" the other new color! Previously my favorite color was "Amethyst.}

{Do you know about Disney shoes? The Disney Store has the best shoes for little girls- and not bad pricing. My girls are obsessed and can be seen anywhere wearing Rapunzel high heels or Merida gladiator sandals- and we LOVE the flip flops ($7.50 each and SO cute!) Check it out HERE-if you are looking for a gift for a little girl- they have darling things- shoes, bags, sunglasses, etc... }

{I have two new favorite spring Nail polishes- Essie e-nuf is e-nuf and OPI Suzy is Hungary Again. I also tried "My Vampire is Buff" by OPI for my nails and I like it a lot- it is one of those that is best if a professional puts it on because it has a lot of "pigment"}

{ I am excited to try these colors}
Dior 'Cherie Bow' Rosy Bow

Dior Gris Trianon

{HOWEVER...that all being said my #1 favorite nail color is always...Essie muchi muchi- just the best!}

{I am a LOYAL Dior Show Blackout mascara fan, I have tried them ALL..literally! And no one can compete with Dior Show Blackout...for me! However, I must admit that I ran out of my mascara and decided to venture out and try the NEW Dior Show "new look" I do love it- I will have to say...it is DELIGHTFUL!}
{Finally, I have decided on my "color of the season" I know everyone is obsessed with the "mint" color and neon pink and orange, or corals- but for me....yellow! I also have a thing for stripes right now!}

Do you have any spring favorites?
