Yummy Alternative!

I have a really hard time packing lunches for school since my kids are not deli-meat eaters and love PBJ! Since peanut products are a big no-no at schools, I have to be creative. Another mom recently introduced me to Sunflower Seed Butter as a great alternative to Peanut Butter. The girls really like it with jelly on a sandwich and they are getting some good nutrients as well (they do not like the taste of soy butter). It is high in protein and unsaturated fats, low in saturated fats, no cholesterol or trans fatty acids and it has all of these great thingsMagnesium, Selenium, Folate, Zinc, Potassium, Phosphorus, Iron, Protein, Fiber, Vitamins B1 and E, Linoleic Acid.
If I were starting over with a baby, I would introduce this at the same time as peanut butter, right from the start when they are not so picky about new foods. I might also add a little bag of Sunflower Seeds to the lunch lineup as well!
